Safety assays – In vitro and In vivo

Standardized safety assays allow to access to insightful data about your compound

In vitro safety assessment

CELL VIABILITY

The cell viability assays are based on measurement of a marker activity associated with viable cell number. Each assay determines viability based on cellular membrane integrity (membrane integrity dyes) or a cellular function such as enzymatic activity (enzyme activity substrates) or metabolic activity (metabolic activity reagents)

HEMOLYSIS ASSAYS

The hemolysis test is a hemocompatibility evaluation designed to determine the hemolytic properties of a compound.

Hemolysis is defined as the breakdown of red blood cells accompanied by the release of hemoglobin. Hemolysis can have adverse health effects.

In vitro cells

Our expertise in in vitro culture allow to work either on standard cells (ACE2, VEROE6 ..) but also on primary cells.

In vivo models

Vibiosphen has access to a wide reservoir of in vivo models such as Swiss Nude, C57Bl/6 and BalbC but also specific immunodeficient or immunocompetent models.

In Vivo safety assessment

Maximum tolerated dose (MTD)

For the development of a new compound, the identification of the therapeutic window, i.e. the threshold between active dose and toxic dose, allows moving forward to clinical phases. The determination of the maximum tolerated dose in vivo will condition the design of subsequent studies.
